I am a restless soul. An artist whose feet are planted in the bountiful garden of her family, but whose heart often wanders far from home. I use my hands to create. Sometimes they form a tangible object to be held and used, loved and worked. Sometimes, my creativity flows on paper. Words spill out from the end of my pen like a toppled glass of water. Drawings and sketches echo my feelings. I get splendidly lost in my work, in the purity of making and doing. Laddie Swan’s Leathers is the vessel I can now use to deliver pieces of me to you.

Leather and woodwork are my outlet, my hiding place, my art. In this, I wholly embrace custom, made-to-0rder piece. By largely creating as need and desire arise, I am not overproducing and adding to the chronic waste that so plagues our global community. I source my materials from as many small businesses as I possibly can, seeking first those individuals and small groups of people who also consider their craft an art.

I strive to make “lifelong” goods. When something leaves my shop, I intend it to serve you for as long as you find use for it. After which, my hope is for it to be passed on to bless another’s life. I stand behind my worksmanship. To further strengthen my commitment for creating less waste, I pledge to fix any defect in workmanship you might come across. If the item has been damaged, I will attempt to repair it if a repair is possible.
